Annual Iron Pour Trip

The art club recently traveled to the University of Kentucky to be one of several universities that participated in the annual Iron Pour event hosted by the UK Sculpture department on November 18th-19th.

Students made sculptural patterns out of an oil based clay called plasticine before leaving the University of the Cumberlands. After arriving at the Iron Pour, students learned to make molds out of resin bonded sand and later their works were cast into iron.

Adam Childress and Kristin Chinn, two art club members, prepare their molds for the Iron Pour.
