Ms. Geraldine Allen is an alumna of Cumberland College, having earned a B.S. in Art Education in 1978 and an M.A. in Education with Fine Art emphasis in 1992.

She has completed further graduate work at the University of Tennessee and has studied photography, digital imaging, and painting in Kentucky, Maine and New Mexico.

Ms. Allen served on the Appalachia Artists Guild Board of Directors, 2000-2005, and is a member of the National Art Education Association, the Kentucky Art Education Association, and the Appalachian Photographic Society. She regularly exhibits her work, and is actively involved in community arts development projects.
