Dr. Robert G. Hancock
Associate Professor of Biology

 

 

 

Dr. Robert G. Hancock earned a B.A. in Biology and Chemistry from Hastings College in 1985, followed by an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Entomology from the Ohio State University in 1989 and 1993, respectively.

Since coming to Cumberland College in 1993, Dr. Hancock has repeatedly been honored for outstanding service as a teacher. In 1996, the Student Government Association named him Honored Professor. In 1998, he received the Cumberland College Excellence in Teaching Award, and in 1999 and 2001, recent graduates selected him to receive the J.B. Fuqua Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dr. Hancock is a member of the Entomological Society of America, the Society of Vector Ecologists, and the American Mosquito Control Association. He has presented his research on mosquitoes at conferences in the United States and in Europe, and he has been selected several times to appear on camera to discuss mosquito behavior for programs developed by NBC and the Discovery Channel.
