Michael Sharpe is a 1993 graduate of Cumberland College, now University of the Cumberlands. In 1991, while still in college, he began his banking career as a part-time teller. After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Mike began a full-time position as a loan officer with a local banking company. Within a few years, he was promoted to the position of Vice President and assumed responsibilities as a banking center manager and commercial lender. Today Mr. Sharpe is the Market President for Forcht Bank in London (KY) and Williamsburg (KY).
Terry Forcht, Chairman of Forcht Bank stated, “We see great potential for our bank group in the London area. With the hiring of Mr. Sharpe as our new Market President, we believe Forcht Bank is poised for tremendous growth in Laurel County.”
Mike commented recently, “I would not have the career I have today if it were not for my teachers at Cumberland. My Corporate Finance class in particular truly prepared for the work I am doing.”
Active in many civic and education groups in the area, Mike often serves as a guest speaker on personal finance to students at the University of the Cumberlands and Whitley County High School.
Mike is married to the former Regina Mahan, herself a Cumberland graduate. They are the proud parents on two children.
