Ms. Kathy FIsh
Professor of English

 

Following her graduation in 1978 from William Jewell College with a BA in English, Ms. Kathy Fish attended the University of Kansas, earning an MA in English in 1980.  She has been a member of the University of the Cumberlands faculty since 1984.

Ms. Fish, whose literary interests include women in literature, nineteenth-century American novelists, and the influence of fairy tales on contemporary literature, has directed two Presidential Scholars Research projects, one examining the fiction of Lee Smith, and the other exploring Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Scarlet Letter.

Ms. Fish is co-director of INSIGHTS, UC’s freshman orientation program, and her work has been recognized by the National Resource Center for Freshman Year Experience as Outstanding Freshman Advocate in 1998.
