AUTHORS:

	Aaron Nathaniel Coleman is a 2001 graduate of Cumberland College with a major in history. He is a native of Inez, Kentucky and has served as President of the Student Government Association for the past two years and as President of the Upsilon-Upsilon Chapter for the past three semesters. The original draft of his paper was written for the Issues in History course, a senior capstone course at Cumberland College.
	Sara Baker is a 2001 graduate of Cumberland College with majors in both history and political science. She is a native of Corbin, Kentucky. The paper contained in the journal is a part of a Presidential Scholar Research Project. She was named a Presidential Scholar at graduation.
	Ranson Harold Smith is a 2001 graduate of Cumberland College with a major in history. He is a native of Oneida, Tennessee and a transfer from Roane State Community College. The original draft of this paper was written for the Issues in History course, a senior capstone course at Cumberland College.
