Steven L. Halstead, M.Ed, LPCC, NCC, BHP
Mr. Halstead is an instructor for the Human Services Department. Prior to becoming an instructor, he worked for the Department of Juvenile Justice as the substance abuse continuing care coordinator covering eight counties. His primary job duties were completing mental health assessments, substance abuse counseling for juvenile delinquents, and protecting the public by providing supervision to offenders.
Mr. Halstead has also served as the Foster & Adoption Specialist for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services serving the Cumberland Valley Region. His job duties included consultation relating to policy interpretation, approving foster/adoptive homes, reviewing cases, training field staff on ASFA regulation regarding permanency, and investigating reports of maltreatment.
Mr. Halstead is a member of the Kentucky Mental Health Counseling Association, and National Certified Counselor Association. Mr. Halstead also works for Intrust Healthcare as a behavioral health therapist serving the Cumberland Valley Region specializing in juveniles that have been victims of abuse.
