Jennifer Knuckles, MSW
Ms. Jennifer Knuckles is an assistant professor for the Department of Human Services. Prior to being hired full time at the University of the Cumberlands in August 2010, she worked for child protective services and in school social work.
Initially went on to work for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Ms. Knuckles provided case management and completed investigations into child abuse, neglect and dependency cases. Her duties consisted of working with many systems including families, and the courts in two counties in KY. After four years with the Cabinet, Ms.Knuckles became the Coordinator of the South-Central Family Resource Center. This family resource center served Corbin Primary and Corbin Elementary students and families. Ms. Knuckles worked with families to provide life skills through literacy workshops. The program provided assistance with health services for the children. While serving as coordinator Ms. Knuckles began a character education program that every student became a part of. Ms Knuckles also worked as a leader of an award winning after school program. Educational support was provided for students through the family resource center in order to remove barriers to students’ learning. Ms. Knuckles served as coordinator for four years.
Ms. Knuckles is an active member of her church working with the youth program. She also continues to work at different times of the year with the Redhound Enrichment afterschool program doing quality control measures. Ms. Knuckles serves on the Corbin Community Coalition.
