The
Mathematics and Physics Club is open to all students who are interested
in the areas of mathematics, physics, or engineering. The club
strives to develop and to enrich the knowledge and appreciation
of mathematics and physics through lectures, field trips, movies,
picnics, and other activities.
Besides
many fun activities such as picnics and Christmas parties, the club
tries to take at least one major trip each year. In the past, these
field trips have included Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville,
AL, Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, TN, Oak Ridge Nuclear Energy
Laboratories in Oak Ridge, TN, Center of Science and Industry in
Columbus, OH, and EKU Planetarium in Richmond, KY. Other activities
include lectures, usually sponsored jointly with Kappa Mu Epsilon
(the mathematics honor society) or Sigma Pi Sigma (the physics honor
society).
For pictures of recent activities, continue to the scrapbook.
