Dr. James Ora Manning
Professor of Physics

 

After first earning a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics at Cumberland College in 1981, Dr. James Manning attended the University of Kentucky, completing an M.S. in Physics in 1983 and a Ph.D. in 1987. That same year, he returned to Cumberland College to teach and, ten years later, in 1997, he was recognized for outstanding achievement when he was presented with the Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Dr. Manning is a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers, the American Physical Society, the Kentucky Association of Physics, and the Society of Physics Students, as well as Sigma Pi Sigma and Kappa Mu Epsilon, the physics and mathematics honor societies.
