Dr. Lolan Redden
Professor Emeritus of Mathematics

 

Dr. Lolan Redden, originally from Pine Knot, Kentucky, attended Baptist College at Charleston Southern University, earning a B.S. in Mathematics Education in 1973. He taught high school mathematics for two years in South Carolina, prior to returning to Kentucky to teach first at Laurel County High School, and then Williamsburg High School. In 1978, he earned an M.A. in Mathematics Education from Eastern Kentucky University and was awarded a Rank I Certification in School Administration from Union College in 1979.

He began teaching part time at Cumberland College in 1978, joining the faculty full time in 1981. While continuing to teach a full course load, Dr. Redden completed an Ed.D in Mathematics Education at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1995. That same year, he received the Cumberland College Award for Excellence in Teaching.
