Dr. Dennis Trickett is an alumnus of Cumberland College, having graduated in 1979 with a B.S. in Psychology. In 1981, he earned an M.R.E. in Religion Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, followed by an Ed. D. in Psychology and Counseling in 1986. Prior to his returning to Cumberland in 1997 as a member of the faculty, Dr. Trickett spent ten years as a therapist and Director of Substance Abuse Prevention at the Cumberland River Comprehensive Care Center.

Dr. Trickett is a member of the Society for Teaching of Psychology, the American Counseling Association, and the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors. He also lends his professional expertise to the Whitley County Board of Education as a consultant.
