I graduated from Cumberland in 06 and went on to earn my M.S. in Educational/School Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 07. I am currently finishing up my Ed.S. degree in School Psychology at the University of Kentucky. I will be going on internship this summer, hopefully in a local school district. Since leaving Cumberland, I have married Cumberland student Johnny B. Hammons who is currently in his first year in the University of Kentucky Medical School. Mary "Missy" Misenhimer

After completing my Bachelors at Cumberland in '04 I moved to Baltimore, MD to work on my Master's degree at Johns Hopkins University where I graduated with a Master's of Science degree in Clinical Community Counseling in May 2007. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Counselor Education from North Carolina State University. I am currently working in a contract position at Meredith in the office of Academic Advising. Prior to Meredith I worked at both Johns Hopkins University as a Recruiting Supervisor for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Key Point Health Services in Dundalk, MD as a child and adolescent counselor. I have worked in a variety settings from school, college, research, mental health, and psychiatry at Cumberland College, Catholic Charities, Johns Hopkins University, Key Point Health Services, and Meredith College gaining experience in residence life, admissions counseling, academic advising, coaching, family therapy, group counseling, substance abuse counseling, child and adolescent counseling, grief counseling, career counseling, and working with clients with eating disorders. My professional interests include substance abuse, gender issues, eating disorders, spiritual growth and development, adjustment disorders, cross-cultural issues, career development and transition, self-awareness.
