Lieutenant Colonel Mike Warren’s military career spans several decades of service.  Beginning in 1969, LTC Warren served as an enlisted soldier in Vietnam with Co D, 75th Inf (Ranger) on a Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol team and later with the 173rd Airborne Division and the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg NC.  He began his career in the reserves with the 149th Inf, KY Army National Guard, receiving a direct commission as a medical officer.  In 1985, LTC Warren became a member of the 100th Division where he now serves.
     A graduate of Union College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, his military education includes:  Medical Basic Course, Armor Advanced Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Army Command and General Staff College, Defense Strategy Course, and School of Cadet Command.
     Major duty assignments include: Battalion Medical Platoon Leader, Rifle Platoon Leader/Detachment Commander, and Company Executive Officer with the 149th Infantry (Mechanized) KYANG, Commander, E Troop, 3-397th (Cavalry), Supply Officer, 3-397th (Cavalry), Personnel Officer, 3-397th (Cavalry), Supply Officer, 6th Brigade (PD), Operations Officer, 3rd Squadron, 3-397th (Cavalry), Executive Officer, 3-397th (Cavalry), APMS, 8th Bde (SROTC), Small Group Leader (C&GS), 6th Brigade (PD), and Squadron Commander, 3rd Sqdn, 397th (Cavalry).  He now serves as Operations Officer for the 3rd Bde 98th Division (IT), located in Lexington, KY.
     Among his Awards and Decorations are: Bronze Star Medal with “V” Device, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster), National Defense Service Medal (with 1 Bronze Service Star), Vietnam Service Medal (with 2 Bronze Service Stars), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Ranger Tab.
      LTC Warren is an Assistant Professor of Military Science with Eastern Kentucky University and works directly with the University of the Cumberlands and Union College commissioning cadets as Army Lieutenants.  LTC Warren resides near Barbourville, KY with his wife Sharon.  Mike and Sharon have three children and six grandchildren.
