Natia N. Helton
Natia N. Helton graduated with a double major Exercise Science and Public Health bachelor degree in 2007 from University of the Cumberlands. After receiving a partial athletic scholarship for swimming, she was on the University’s swim team. Tia’s passion towards swimming allowed her to become the Head Swim Coach of Stebbins High School in Riverside, Ohio during the 2008-2009 season.
While also working hard with the swim team, Tia started working for The Heights Racquetball and Fitness Club in April 2008 in the area of Fitness and Sport Management. In April 2009, she became the General Manager (GM) while managing a staff of 15 people and organizing many health and fitness programs. Since becoming the GM, she started sand volleyball, walleyball, and racquetball leagues. She organized charity tournaments such as “Zumbathon,” dodgeball, and breast cancer awareness volleyball, all for extremely excellent causes. Tia has developed and managed a summer camp for kids for the past 2 seasons and multiple health and fitness programs for Club members. Tia understands the importance of community service and aims to get across the importance of health and fitness to her Club members by running an annual Health Fair. She also volunteered for “Relay for Life.”
During all of her accomplishments at The Heights, she has also been working on her master’s degree since 2009. The degree will be in Public Health, concentration in policy and management. For her degree, she has researched and completed a project on childhood obesity which is a topic she hopes to further engage in the future.
