Heading into the spring season, the men were more focused and looked to win the NAIA Region XI Tournament. The entire season consisted of all Top 10 finishes as a team, and even a first place finish at the Milligan College Invitational. Starting off the spring season, the men traveled to Berry College where they finished 6th with a combined score of 312. The Milligan College Invitational gave the men the win they had been looking for all season with a victory and a score of 623. Hosting the Southeastern Intercollegiate Invitational, the men placed 9th with 612 as a total. With a decent season behind them, the men were hungry to win the NAIA Region XI tournament, but their dreams were cut short. The men finished the tournament with a final score of 952, giving them a 3rd place finish.
Coach Bill Sergent, who was also named Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year, commented, "This has been a very trying season having four freshmen that played as large of a roll as these did. But I have seen enough bright spots that the future looks to have some outstanding possibilities."
The men will only be losing one player, Senior Michael Peters, and Sergent commented, "Michael had some very good rounds and had a solid career after having been an outstanding baseball player in high school."
Key returnees for the men are Junior Justin Price ( Somerset, KY) who finished this season as runner-up for conference player-of-the-year and as an All-Region player. Freshman Cory Cox ( Hodgenville, KY) had an outstanding year being named an All-Region player. Also returning for the Patriots are Michael Burgan ( Dry Ridge, KY), Aaron Grubb ( Barbourville, KY), and Caleb Ewald ( Centerville, KY).
Although the men have only signed one player for the upcoming season, Coach Sergent is very confident in his team. "I think we can challenge for the MSC and Region championships next season especially if we can add one or two more good players."
