Mr. Chris Kraftick
Head Coach - Men and Women’s Golf

Chris Kraftick is entering his first year as Men and Women' Golf Head Coach. He hails from Wooster, OH and now resides in London, KY with his wife of six years, Rebecca and his three children; Lynsey (10), Mason (5), and Emory (1).

 

Kraftick attended Wooster High School where he was a 4 year letterman. During his highschool golf career he was recognized as an All Conference player in 1993 and won the team MVP in 1993. He was graduated from Wilmington College in 1998 with a degree in Elementary Education where he was named an All Conference player his junior and senior years and received the Team Outstanding Player award.

Kraftick has had an adventurous career thus far. From 1995-1998 he served as the Women's Basketball Assistant Coach at Wilmington College. From there he made a move to Southeast Kentucky and took the same position at Cumberlands for two seasons. From there he decided to pursue his passion for golf and took the position of Assistant Golf Professional at Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, KY. In 2004, he became a member of the PGA. Since then, he has qualified for the Kentucky Open five times. Also in 2004, he was promoted to Head Golf Professional at Crooked Creek. He remained there until his recent acceptance of new head golf coach at Cumberlands. Numerous women's basketball players that have been coached by Kraftick have now moved on and began a career in coaching themselves. Several golfers that Kraftick has coached have now moved on to a college career in the sport.

Coach Kraftick stated, "The most impressive thing about UC is the people and the sense of community. The school is always moving forward. I like how the campus is always evolving and improving. The people are supportive of the athletic programs and coaches are given the resources to be successful".
