Adam Blanton | The University of the Cumberlands baseball program is enjoying one of its most successful seasons in the history of the school. Once again, the Patriots are earning many honors this season including a Mid-South Conference Regular Season Championship. Now, two more Patriots have earned MSC Player and Pitcher of the Week honors.
Adam Blanton (Staffordsville, KY) earned the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honor for the week, his 2nd of the year. Blanton started game one of the Patriots’ doubleheader against Indiana University-Southeast on Monday. Blanton earned the win pitching 6.2 innings allowing 4 runs on 8 hits and 4 walks while striking out 5. Overall, Blanton is 5-1 on the year with a 3.86 earned run average in 32.2 innings on the season.

Andrew Denton (Hendersonville, TN) earned his first Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honor of the season for the week of April 21st. Denton played in all three of the Patriots’ games this past week, going 7-13 at the plate for a batting average of .538. Denton collected 2 runs scored, 2 doubles, 2 runs batted in, and a stolen base while the team went 2-1 on the week.
These two honors for the week give the Patriots eight Mid-South Conference Player/Pitcher of the Week honors on the season by far the most by any school during the year. The Patriots will be traveling to Georgetown College for the Mid-South Conference Tournament to be held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 24-26th.
