Coach Dan Moody enters his second year as an Assistant Coach for the Men's Wrestling Team. Moody hails from Lexington, KY and was a four year varsity member of the Cumberlands wrestling team. He graduated in 2006 with a B.S. in Education and is currently working towards his Masters Degree in Teaching.
Coach Moody believes the best thing about being a coach is developing the abilities of student athletes and getting to know the guys on the team. "I think our team has great potential," comments Moody. "UC provides the chance for our athletes to become outstanding in both competition and in life."
Coach Moody has also served as an Assistant Coach at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington during the 1998-1999 season. Upon graduation from UC, Moody hopes to teach English and Math at the middle school level. |
Coach Prophete is entering his first year as a UC Men's Wrestling Assistant Coach and graduate assistant. He graduated from Cumberlands in 2007 with a B.S. degree in Biology and Public Health and is currently working towards his Masters degree.
During his time at UC, Prophete had an outstanding wrestling career. He was a 3 time National Qualifier, a 2003 JCNCAA All-American, and 3 time team captain. Coach Prophete came to Cumberland from Riviera Beach, FL where he was a State Champion for his high school.
Prophete is very excited about coaching the men's team this year. "Patriot wrestling is in my blood," states Prophete. "It's easy to get close to a group of guys with the same champion mentality."

Live Wrestling - Organized live wrestling sessions will be conducted each day where the students will
have the opportunity to go live against college wrestlers and the featured clinicians.
Team Concept & Competition - One of the best ways to improve wrestling skills is by learning through the experience gained from competition. One of the most popular programs at the camp has been the team concept. The campers are divided into teams and assigned a coach for the week. The teams will compete throughout the week in dual meet type competitions with the wrestlers of the winning team receiving awards. This team concept provides an atmosphere of fun and competition, which leads to personalized instruction from the team coaches.
Technique - program brings the students through a proven method of instruction and reinforcement of the strong fundamentals of wrestling. Additionally, high level moves like the inside trip and throws that will set the students apart from their competition will be presented. Where most camps provide instruction to the group as a whole, State Champ Wrestling separates wrestlers based on their experience levels, so the instruction can be tailored to meet specific needs.
• Focused Instructional Program - Separates the camp into groups based on experience level • Enables the experienced wrestlers to receive instruction at a fast pace • Allows for the less experienced to focus on the fundamentals.
