Mr. Kip Flanik
Head Coach - Women's Wrestling
Kip Flanik begins his sixth year as the head coach of the University of the Cumberlands Women’s wrestling program. He is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, where he was graduated from Cleveland Heights High School.

Flanik’s coaching experience is vast. He has been employed with Roxboro Middle School, his alma mater, Cleveland Heights High, and most recently East Technical High School. It was through his experiences that he was able to coach two elite female athletes. Tina George is currently ranked number one in the country in her class and has been a World Team Member for several years. Former Patriot, Toccara Montgomery, was also a product of Flanik’s coaching. Montgomery was the number one wrestler in the country in her weight class throughout college. She was the youngest World Team Member and the youngest National Champion. She has held numerous titles and awards throughout her wrestling career. In 2004, Montgomery represented the United States in the first ever women's wrestling event at the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Flanik has also coached top athletes including Alaina Berube, Heather Martin, Jessica Medina, Othella Lucas and Tabetha Golt.
Flanik believes that, “Cumberlands seems like my dream college. The people are all friendly and the campus is beautiful. The women’s program is very young, but the ladies are very motivated and in it to win. I am looking forward to many successful years as a Patriot.”
