Growing up sure doesn’t take long… and the summer months have flown by! Now we are ending Freshman Welcome Week, year 2012, at University of the Cumberlands. How swift did Move-In Day approach us. Many Stars (Upperclassmen who were awesome enough to help in Freshman orientation and the freshman entrance class, Insights) were right behind me as I carried all my supposedly important items to my room. I was overwhelmed with the kindness distributed that day, but even more overwhelmed at the shortness of the day. I don’t need to throw a clock to see time fly – it has happened right before my very eyes. And here we go! Here we begin the journey that will take us on a whirlwind of trials, faith, fortune, and tests. We freshmen have come from near and far to join together in education, and I’m not trying to sound cheesy, but, it’s a miracle. College is a privilege. Responsibility is the opportunity we have now taken. Few can afford such a prize as this, so let’s make the semesters count. Happy first week of classes, freshmen, and all returning UC students. Ready or not, here comes college life. Let’s go!
