Hey there!!
It is officially September! I am so excited about it because that means Fall is on the way and the temperature should be slowly lowering. I’ve never been a big fan of September and it’s also allergy season (at least for this girl).
This past weekend was Labor Day Weekend, which of course I was really excited for – three day weekend, I mean who wouldn’t be? So I left campus for the first time since I moved in and it was nice visiting with my family , seeing my dog and her pups , showering in my own shower without shower shoes and sleeping in my own bed. But after I did all that and caught up on sleep, I sat there and thought to myself, “Okay besides homework what now?” After being on campus for two full weeks you become accustomed to campus life. Always having your roommates there to talk to and do homework with or talk about classes with (or talk about people in those classes with! :O ) But it was still nice, plus I got to catch up on sleep which is always a good thing!
I was really excited to come back on Monday, even though campus was kind of a ghost town. I got back around 4 so a lot of people hadn’t arrived yet. I didn’t r
ealize it till now but my roommates and I arrived in the same sequence we did on the day of move-in. Kimberly first, me second, and then Kacie shortly after. We also helped pack each others’ stuff back up to the room (clothes we packed from home or washed and brought back and food….lots of food
). We hung around the rest of the day and chatted with our neighbors who were coming in and out arriving back on campus.
We took a random trip to Wal-M
art cause we decided we needed curtains , and might I add the windows in Gillespie Hall are huge both in height and width. So looking for curtains that would be big enough was a challenge, especially if your going off “approximate measurements” like we were. Eventually we had the bright idea that we should just go buy a lot
of fabric and make them ourselves. We searched for the thickest black curtains we could find, then got back to our room and realized, “Wait, we don’t have a needle and thread!”
Tuesday morning, bright and early, classes started back. It was a rough morning trying to fall back into routine. Having that extra day to the weekend was nice, but it kinda throws you off when you get used to the fast-paced college life. You find yourself making a list of things you need to do and realize you have one less day to do them.
With that being said I need to jump back to the good old “College Life” ! Thanks for reading and if you have any questions , feel free to ask
.
