Hey guys and gals. Hope every thing is going good at your current school and grades are good. I can’t even believe its been a month! It doesn’t even feel like we have been in school for a month now, it feels like we have only been here for about 2 weeks. Everything is just so smooth here at UC, especially now that we are getting into the groove of things. Most classes have got their first test behind them and now are moving farther and farther into the semester.
Some keys that I have already learned to have success in college is to go to class and not miss as often as can be helped. I understand though, that there are some cases where you have to miss a class! You have to realize that you only have a certain amount of days you can miss each day of the week for a semester, so make sure that you don’t exceed that limit or you will automatically fail the class for the semester. Also, if you miss then you will get behind in class. It isn’t like in high school when you can just come the next day and make up what you missed the last day. It’s hard to miss and stay caught up in class, so just come to class and pay attention and everything should be good.
Another good thing to know about college is to not procrastinate with anything! Especially when it comes to homework, studying, keeping a clean room, laundry, etc. If you procrastinate in college, it will get you in a lot of trouble – in more ways than one. You will get behind in homework and end up staying up late and having to do it. Then the next day you will be tired in class cause you stayed up late doing homework and studying for that big exam for your class! So get things done the day they are assigned, so you can have plenty of time to have ‘you’ time and just hang out with your friends. Don’t be a procrastinator and try and cram everything the night before class and a test.
These are only some things that I have learned the first month of college and I’m sure that I’ll find many more helpful tips throughout my college experience. I’ll keep you all informed on my findings and will update them in a later edition of the chronicles of Zac Kemp at UC. Study hard, don’t procrastinate, and go to class and you will do just fine in college – but you also have make it here first! I’ll be looking forward to seeing you all next year.
Zac Kemp out!!!
