Dr. Donnie K. Grimes serves as the Executive Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at University of the Cumberlands. Dr. Grimes joined the Cumberlands family in 1989. In addition to serving as the university’s CIO, Dr. Grimes serves as the Executive Dean of the School of Computer and Information Sciences and Executive Director of the Appalachian Institute of Workforce Development. Before these positions, he was a faculty member in the School of Computer and Information Sciences.
Dr. Grimes has earned several degrees and honors, including a bachelor’s in science mathematics from Cumberland College (now University of the Cumberlands), a master’s in mathematics and computer science from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from University of the Cumberlands.
Dr. Grimes and Kellye, his wife, have been married for more than 20 years and have one child.
