Administrative Assistant for Director of Physician Assistant Program

This position requires knowledge of several computer programs. Also, requires the individual to provide varied and complex administrative and secretarial assistance
to the Director and associated staff. Other responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
  • Plan, organize and coordinate office activities
  • Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Maintain confidentiality of information
  • Supervise day to day work of the office staff/work study students
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Plan and prepare for meetings
  • Prepare check requests and purchase orders
  • Order office supplies
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School Graduate or College Degree
  • Good communication skills both oral and written
  • Computer skills in Word and Excel
  • Two years of prior office experience
  • Organized with excellent business etiquette

  • Participate in promoting the program to prospective applicants and to professional community
  • The successful candidate will serve as Director of a new doctoral program in physical therapy currently in the early stages of planning with the intention to be implemented in 2010-2011
  • Candidate must have an appropriate doctorate
  • Experience in college teaching and program development or administration preferred
