I hope this part of our conference
can symbolize the letting go of some of our grief. At times we may resist letting go. We often feel that our grief keeps us
connected to our loved ones and by letting go; we may feel we are denying our
love.
However, it is possible to
free our everlasting love for our child from the painful feelings and we honor
our loved ones by doing so. We all reach
this point at different times, but slowly, sometimes without being fully aware
of it, we can replace so many of the bad memories of their death, with happy
memories of their life. This is not to
say that sad feelings don’t return, but when they do, they don’t overwhelm our
feelings of love, and one day we find that we can actually take joy in our
loved one’s time with us. Our loved ones
will always be with us. They are a part
of us and they will remain in our hearts and lives forever.
Our loved ones are not
alone, but hand in hand with each other and with God. When we release our balloons, let’s all hold
hands and be reminded that we, too, are not traveling this road alone, we have
each other’s support and love.
Just as the Christmas Box
Angel is holding out her wings to embrace our children and us, and embracing a
new day, we hold each other and that touch states that we will remember
each other in our travels. We release
these balloons as a symbol that we want our children to know that they are
being remembered.
I would like to think that
as we release these balloons, and they slowly go out of our sight, that they
are coming into the sight of our children.
And that is our gift to them from us.
A life that touches the
hearts of others goes on forever.
I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK THE BALLOON TO GET TO ME BUT WE HAD A STORM PRIOR TO FINDING THE BALLOON.
HOPE THIS IS HELP YOU TO SEE HOW FAR YOUR BALLOON TRAVELED.
I WAS A LITTLE SURPRISED WHEN I LOOKED OUT AND SAW SOMETHING IN MY YARD AND I COULDN'T REALLY TELL WHAT IT WAS TILL I WENT OUTSIDE, I WAS SITTING AT THE SEW MACHINE, MAKING AN OUTFIT FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER WHEN ONE OF OUR DOGS STARTING BARKING AND HE DOESN'T NORMALLY BARK UNLESS SOMETHING ALARMS HIM, BUT I DID GO LOOK AND THAT IS WHEN I FOUND THE BALLOON.
