Tree of Life Dedication
June 4, 2005

Litany of Dedication
LEADER: We now gather around this tree.
PEOPLE: This Tree of Life; to be reminded that our children are our roots.
LEADER: That our children are like the leaves that change in the fall.
PEOPLE: They have just changed into a different form, but are still a part of us.
LEADER: Because they are the "roots" of all we do in their memory,
PEOPLE: May we be ever thoughtful of others who travel this road.
LEADER: And offer a hug and and a "limb" on which to lean
PEOPLE: As we, today, lean on each other.
UNISON: We dedicate this Tree of Life to our children.

The Plaque reads:
DARK TREE STILL SAD WHEN OTHERS' GRIEF IS FLED, THE ONLY CONSTANT MOURNER O'ER THE DEAD!
Tree at my window, window tree,
My sash is lowered when night comes on;
But let there never be a curtain drawn
Between you and me.
Tree at My Window (1928)
