Ashley Fore Honored as Henry R. Racki Scholarship Recipient

Williamsburg, Ky. University of the Cumberlands (UC) is pleased to announce that Ashley Fore (Corbin, KY) is the recipient of the 2011 Dr. Henry R. Racki Initiative for Leadership Scholarship award.

According to Racki, a good citizen not only obeys the laws but also seeks to better the community. Dr. Racki established the Initiative for Leadership Scholarship at Cumberlands to recognize the contributions of good citizens to their fellowman through community service. Students selected for this scholarship must be of sound moral character and will have proven leadership ability and an outstanding record of citizenship through school or community involvement.

Fore attended Whitley County High School and intends on majoring in biology during her time at Cumberlands in anticipation of entering the Physician Assistant program after graduation.

To apply for the Racki scholarship, the applicant must be a current graduating high school senior and have been admitted to University of the Cumberlands by March 15th. In addition, they must complete and submit the Racki Leadership Scholarship application along with a sealed letter of recommendation.

The Racki Leadership Scholarship has a monetary value of $1,000 per year and may be renewed for up to four years at Cumberlands. To be eligible for renewal of this scholarship, the recipient must demonstrate a record of good citizenship on campus by documenting involvement in school and community activities.

Fore was also named a WYMT-TV scholar, a Bert T. Combs scholar, and earned the Jim Taylor, II memorial scholarship to help secure her finances at Cumberlands.
