WILLIAMSBURG, Ky- On Sunday August 21, University of the Cumberlands’ (UC) Campus Activities Board (CAB) presented the annual Patriot Party to kick off Welcome Week 2011.

The event, which began at 8 p.m. on the Boswell Campus Center (BCC) lawn, featured live music by OH! Divide & FUSE Worship Team, food, games, photo key chains and giveaways for students.

“It’s totally awesome,” said incoming freshman Wesley Hale (Amelia, OH). “And it’s also a great way to meet new people.”

The social media themed week (“Follow Us”) continues Monday night with the showing of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at 9 p.m. on the BCC field.

CAB has teamed with Multimedia & Athletic Services to provide students with giveaways and contests. Students can win prizes by visiting the UC Facebook page (search University of the Cumberlands) and by tweeting while using the hash tag #GetSocial.
