Campus & Sporting News on WCCR & Across the Web


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky - University of the Cumberlands’(UC) newest department, Multimedia and Athletic Services, will be providing listeners via the campus radio station (94.5 FM WCCR) with campus and athletic news beginning this September on the air and on the world wide web where the radio station streams “Live”.

Wednesdays at noon will feature “Inside Patriot Sports” hosted by Grant Doepel (Social Media & Website Coordinator). The athletic talk show, formerly hosted by Brandon Hensley (Multimedia Video & Sports Radio/Video Coordinator), will feature weekly news and score updates as well as interviews with student athletes and coaches.

The talk show will give listeners insight as to the thoughts and planning of coaches and students alike. Each weekly show will feature three to five interviews of students and coaches discussing the past week’s events as well as upcoming games.

New to WCCR is “Inside UC”. This campus talk show will be airing Thursdays at 1 p.m. on 94.5. Also hosted by Doepel, the show will feature interviews with campus organizers regarding upcoming events and activities.

Each show will feature four to six interviews, including a weekly spot by CAB (Campus Activities Board) and BCM (Baptist Campus Ministries). In the spring, performances from the hit campus show, “Cumberland Idol” will air on the program as well.

A schedule of guests will be posted weekly on the shows’ joint Facebook page. “Inside Patriot Sports” will begin August 31st at noon, while “Inside UC” begins September 1st at 1 p.m.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
