Cumberlands Professor to Appear Live on Fox News

Williamsburg, KY. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) Associate Professor Dr. Barry Vann has been recognized for his latest accomplishment, the writing and publishing of his book Puritan Islam: The Geoexpansion of the Muslim World.

With the publication of his book, Vann has been asked to appear on Fox News for a live interview during their weekly “faith focused” segment entitled, “Spirited Debate.”

The experienced author was invited to discuss his book with the show’s chief religion correspondent, Lauren Green. “I am excited about the interview and that it will take place at the Fox News studio in Manhattan,” said Vann.

Vann states in his book that the movement of people and their cultures attracted his attention at a very young age. The different ethnicities and cultures that he experienced as a boy in Detroit shocked him. The shock eventually wore off and was replaced by full blown interest and curiosity. Years later, Dr. Vann began to search for answers about the complexity of human existence. Research and his own intellect took him to places he had never thought to be.

Dr. Vann served as an honorary teaching fellow at the University of Dundee in the United Kingdom and he currently holds a Ph.D. in historical geography from the University of Glasgow.

To view Dr. Vann’s interview, tune in to the local Fox station for the live interview on September 30th at 2 p.m.

Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
