UC student Matt Black presents senior vocal recital

Williamsburg, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands (UC) student Matt Black presented his senior vocal recital on Saturday, April 14th, in the Nell Moore Recital Hall in UC’s Grace Crum Rollins Fine Arts Center.

Black performed many different songs in the genres of art songs, foreign language pieces, musical pieces, and sacred songs. Black was accompanied throughout the entire performance by Ms. Kay Dawn McFarland on the piano. Black also performed a duet with fellow UC student Micah Wolf.

When asked about his upcoming graduation Black has mixed feelings. “It’s bittersweet; I really love the people that I have gotten to know over my years here, but yet I am so ready to be done.”

Black will be graduating this May with a Bachelor of Science in Church Music degree. He chose this degree because of his background in the church and his love for music.

Black is from Northwood, Ohio. He is the son of Don and Nancy Black.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of student; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master's degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
