James Brock Receives Outstanding Graduate Award at UC

 


Williamsburg, Ky. – On Saturday, May 5th, University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented the H.N. and Frances Berger Outstanding Male Graduate Award to James Brock (London, Ky.) during the annual commencement ceremony.

While at UC, Jake has maintained a 3.9 GPA and is a member of the J.T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society. Jake has also served as President of the Freshman Honor Society Alpha Lambda Delta. Currently Jake serves as President of Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society for Business, Management and Administration and as President of Theta Alpha Kappa Honor Society for Religion and Theology.

While accumulating these various honors Jake has been exceedingly active on both campus and in the community. Jake has been a member of the Chamber Choir, staff writer and Religion Editor for The Patriot student newspaper and is an active member of the Hutton School of Business Club. He has been a tutor for the Academic Resource Center and a STAR in the Insights program. In addition to campus activities, Jake has been actively involved in ministry within the Laurel River Association.

Jake, the son of James and Rhonda Brock, received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in accounting and a minor in religion.

Each year during commencement, University of the Cumberlands honors the most outstanding male and female members of the graduating class with the H. N. and Frances Berger Awards. The awards are presented to those students who have exhibited sound academic achievement combined with superior leadership and service to the college community and the larger community as a whole.

Located in Williamsburg, KY, University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
