American Retrospective Theme for Upcoming Band and Chorale Concert

Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands closes its spring semester with an American retrospective theme for the band and chorale concert at 7:30 p.m. on April 28 in the campus' Kohn Theatre.

The chorale features Aaron Copland's selections from "Old American Songs," such as "Simple Gifts," "Zion's Walls," and "At the River." Henry Fillmore's "Americans We" march and Jonathan Elkus' arrangement of Charles Ives' pieces compiled for the Old Home Days portion of the program will also be presented by the UC Symphonic Band. The band and chorale are comprised of students from all disciplines of study and are led by music faculty Dr. David Etter and Mr. Todd Hill.
