University of the Cumberlands to observe Patriot Day for 9/11 ceremony


Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) will conduct a commemoration ceremony for the victims of 9/11 on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 in Patriot Park at the Hutton School of Business. The program will begin at 12:00 noon.

The ceremony is free and open to the public.

COL (Ret.) Michael Farley, a veteran of the Global War on Terror and a graduate of the University of the Cumberlands, will be the featured speaker.

During the ceremony the UC Marching Band will include a musical tribute to the lives lost during the Attack on America in 2001 and will honor the sacrifices American troops have made in defending America.

In observance of Patriot Day, the program will include a Military Retreat and Flag Folding Ceremony conducted by the University’s Army ROTC Unit.

Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; twelve graduate degrees, including two doctorate, two specialist and eight master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
