Cumberlands Sigma Beta Delta inducts new members


Williamsburg, Ky. – On Thursday, October 25th the University of the Cumberlands (UC) Hutton School of Business (HSB) National Honor Society Sigma Beta Delta hosted their 7th annual induction ceremony at the Cumberland Inn in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

The guest speaker for the event was Mr. L. Shane Anderson who is a 2003 graduate of UC with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Currently, Mr. Anderson lives in Lexington, Kentucky and works as a credit analyst for Central Bank and Trust. At the ceremony, Anderson was honored by being inducted into Sigma Beta Delta as an honorary inductee.

In all 11 students were inducted into the Honors Society for their academic achievements and hard work. Students inducted into Sigma Beta Delta include: Vincent Drahman (Noblesville, IN), Abigail Dundon (Lexington, KY), Donovan Feenstra (Calgary, Canada), Bradley Karr (Lily, KY), Chad Lawson (Big Creek, KY), Kenneth Lipscomb (London, KY), Ashley Mills (Corbin, KY), Michael Sawyers (Williamsburg, KY), Stephen Smith (LaFollette, TN), Kendra Troxtel (Somerset, KY), and Eugenia Vickers (McKee, KY).

The Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business, Management and Administration chapter was established in December 2006. The purposes of Sigma Beta Delta are to encourage and recognize scholarship and achievement among students of business, management and administration, and to encourage and promote personal and professional improvement and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.

Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; twelve graduate degrees, including two doctorate, two specialist and eight master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
