Mills Receives Emma McPherson English Award

 


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - Joy Beth Mills, of Flat Lick, Ky., is the 2006 recipient of the Emma McPherson English Award. The English department at University of the Cumberlands annually gives this award to a graduating senior who has shown exceptional academic achievement and service to the department. Dr. Thomas Frazier, English department chair, presented the award to Mills during the Honors Day service held at University of the Cumberlands on April 24.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Ky., is a private liberal arts college in its 117th year of operation. Cumberland offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and nine pre- professional programs.
