Elizabeth Braden receives Multiple Honors from Cumberlands


Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented Elizabeth Nicole Braden (Powell, TN) with the Hutton School of Business (HSB) Business Administration Award during the 54th annual Honors Day Program on Sunday, April 21st.

Braden was also named to the University’s High Honor Roll. Students recognized for this honor must attain a minimum of 3.85 cumulative grade point average standing.

Elizabeth, the daughter of Ben and Betty Braden, is a double major in Business Administration and Mathematics. She will graduate with high honors having maintained a 4.0 GPA.

She has been named to the Dean’s List and President’s list for seven semesters. In fall of her junior year (her first year of eligibility), Nicole was inducted into Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business and Administration. Previously the chapter’s vice president, she currently serves as President of the UC chapter. Nicole was inducted into the J. T. Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society in the spring of 2012. She is also past-President of Kappa Mu Epsilon, Mathematics honor society and was named to Who’s Who.

Nicole is also the winner of the 2013 Esther A Compton Mathematics Award. The math award is based on academic achievement within the major followed by overall academic achievement.

While maintaining success in academics, Nicole has also been active in a variety of campus and community activities. She currently serves as Vice President of the Math and Physics Club, and previously was a member of the UC varsity golf team, and a weekly tutor in the UC Academic Resource Center.

She is currently looking for employment in Knoxville as an analyst using statistics.
