Bethany Bargo receives the Excellence in Middle School Education Award


Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) presented Bethany Bargo (Barbourville, KY) with the Excellence in Middle School Education Award during the 54th annual Honors Day Program on Sunday, April 21st.

Bargo was also named to the University’s High Honor Roll. Students recognized for this honor must attain a minimum of 3.85 cumulative grade point average standing.

Bethany, the daughter of Timothy and Regina Bargo, will be graduated in May with certification in Middle School Education 5 – 9 with concentrations in Mathematics and Social Studies.

While at UC she has been a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in Education, the Kappa Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society, a 2012 recipient of the Gorman Jones Scholarship, and has remained a member of the President’s and Dean’s lists throughout her time at UC. Bethany was initiated into the JT Vallandingham Scholastic Honor Society and was named a member of Who’s Who among University and College Students in 2012.

Before she came to UC, Bethany proclaimed her dislike of mathematics; now she is making mathematics her career and is excited to inspire the learning process of her future students.

At this time she is seeking a teaching position in the area of Middle School Mathematics.
