Cumberlands Honors Jim Taylor, II Memorial Scholarship Recipients

Williamsburg, Ky. - University of the Cumberlands (UC) is pleased to announce that five students were honored as recipients of the Jim Taylor, II Memorial Scholarship during the 54th annual Honors Day Program on Sunday, April 21st.

The following students have been named as recipients:

Brittany Begley, is pursuing a degree in Psychology,

Emily Meadors, is pursuing a degree in Business Administration,

Steven Jeffries, is pursuing a degree in Biology,

Jacob Lowe, is pursuing a degree in P-12 Special Education,

Suzanna Perkins, is pursuing a degree in Biology.

The recipients receive a medallion at their high school’s honor program, which they wear to their high school graduation. They also wear the medallion at their Cumberlands graduation. Because young Jim loved horses, each recipient is given a crystal horse during the University of the Cumberlands Honors Day service in the year of their graduation.

To qualify for the scholarship students must have attended either Williamsburg High School or Whitley County High School, must meet certain academic standards, and must write an essay to Jim’s parents explaining why he or she would like to receive the scholarship to attend University of the Cumberlands.
