Rev. Joe Ball speaks at University of the Cumberlands' convocation

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – Rev. Joe Ball spoke at University of the Cumberlands’ freshman convocation service on Monday in the Gatliff Chapel. The Cumberland Singers, one of the university’s choirs, also performed during the service.

Ball addressed some of the issues that he feels his generation has not properly taught the younger generation. “I want you do to better than we did,” he said.

“Prayer is a conversation between us and God,” said Ball. “God is not Santa Claus; He wants to have a relationship with you.”

Ball is the youth strategist for the Kentucky Baptist Convention and works with churches and youth leaders.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts college in its 117th year of operation. Cumberlands offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and nine pre-professional programs, as well as online and accelerated, nontraditional programs for adults.
