Celebrate spring with music! |
||
The University of the Cumberlands presents opportunities to begin the season in song. In an Instrumental Faculty Recital on Tuesday, March 20, special guest pianists Jay Kirchner (UC Biology Department) and Todd Spangler (Attorney, Middlesboro ) join UC Music Faculty Richard Byrd, James Corcoran, Sean Greene, and David Thelkeld in a lively mix of music. The Faculty Jazz Combo promises memorable numbers ranging from an eighteenth century concerto and Lennon and McCartney's Blackbird to Howard's Fly Me to the Moon. On Saturday, March 24, senior soprano Kaylie Ann Warfield, daughter of Donnie and Melinda Warfield of Owensboro, performs in recital. A student of Dr. Jeff Smoak, she offers a range of classical and contemporary selections, including pieces from Mozart, as well as from Monty Python's musical Spamalot. The evenings are warmer, and admission is free. Get out and enjoy these events, beginning at 7:30 p.m., in the Nell Moore Recital Hall on the UC campus. For more information, call the Music Department at 539-4332. |
