Murray Receives Phyllis Richardson Wood Scholarship

WILLIAMSBURG, KY. – University of the Cumberlands Department of Music recently awarded the 2007 Phyllis Richardson Wood Scholarship to Ashley Murray.

Murray, a junior instrumental music major, is the daughter of Betty Murray of McKee, Ky. As the scholarship winner, she will perform with the music faculty in the Phyllis Richardson Wood Scholarship Concert to be presented in the fall of 2007.

The scholarship is awarded each year to a music major, sophomore or above, who has excelled in the areas of academics and performance. It is in honor of Phyllis Richardson Wood who was an active supporter of the University of the Cumberlands music department.

University of the Cumberlands, located in Williamsburg, Kentucky, is a private liberal arts college in its 118th year of operation. Cumberlands offers four undergraduate degrees in 37 major fields of study, 30 minors and nine pre-professional programs, as well as online and accelerated, non-traditional programs for adults.
