Scam is using University of the Cumberlands name |

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Officials at University of the Cumberlands announced Monday afternoon that one or more individuals allegedly have approached residents of Whitley County purporting to sell magazines on behalf of the University. Supposedly, after they sell a subscription and take a check in payment, they then alter the check to reflect a much larger amount. University authorities have stated that no one affiliated with Cumberlands is selling magazines and that anyone who is approached in this way should not only refuse to purchase a subscription but should immediately contact local law enforcement officials. |
