Cumberlands alumna featured in vocal recital

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands music department will present a vocal recital featuring Joy (Wallace) Burdette at 7:30 p.m., on Monday, February 23, in the Nell Moore Recital Hall of the Grace Crum Rollins Center on campus.

Burdette, a soprano and 1992 graduate of Cumberland College, is an instructor of voice at Northern Kentucky University. She has performed various roles, as well as professional chorus work, with Opera Theatre of Lucca, Italy, Cincinnati Opera, Kentucky Opera, University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the University of Louisville School of Music. The performance will include traditional hymns and selected works by Richard Wagner, Lee Hoiby and John Kander. Burdette will be accompanied on piano by Jan Corrothers, Staff Accompanist at Northern Kentucky University where she teaches Class Piano.
