Shemwell honored at University of the Cumberlands |

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Amy Beth Shemwell received the Public Health Award, given by the Health, Exercise and Sport Science Department, during the 50th annual Honors Day convocation at University of the Cumberlands. The daughter of John & Patricia Shemwell of Trenton, Shemwell, was graduated on May 9, with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health degree, with a minor in social work. She received the distinction of graduating magna cum laude with a 3.87 GPA. While at Cumberland, she has served as Student Government Association chief of staff and senator; House Council president and vice president; UC cheerleader and captain of the cheerleading squad; a Star for the Insights Program; and been named Midsouth Academic All Conference. Shemwell is a T.J. Siler Award winner, as well as the 2009 Mary Mildred Sullivan Award winner. After graduation, she plans to work in the field of public health and pursue her Master of Public Health Degree. |
