Cumberlands announces the 2009 Homecoming Court


University of the Cumberlands 2009 Homecoming Court and Queen and King candidates are: first row: Chris Johnson and Amber Wells; second row: David Intal and Kendra McCollum, Diontae Ellington and Rebecca Hatmaker; third row: Heath Davis and Tieranee Sturdivant, Aaron Root and Kirby Soles, Casey Hamm and Chelsea Belt; fourth row: Adam Luttrell and Janet Schietlin, David Sandlin and Kati Reager, Forrest Coleman and Deavin Stewart, P.J. Hughes and Amanda Jean Howard.

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands announced the representatives of the 2009 Homecoming Court and the candidates for Queen and King during convocation on Monday, Oct. 5.

The 2009 freshman Homecoming Court representatives are:

• Amber Wells, a biology major, the daughter of Ben and Wanda Wallace of Corbin; and

• Chris Johnson, of Corbin, a political science major.

The 2009 sophomore Homecoming Court representatives are:

• Kendra McCollum, a business administration major, the daughter of Rob and Gina McCollum of Berea;

• David Intal, a communications major, the son of Robledo and Samoeun Intal of Cambodia;

• Rebecca Hatmaker, an accounting major, the daughter of Billy and Tammy Hatmaker of Wallins Creek; and

• Diontae Ellington, a psychology and theatre major from Harlan, the son of Carol and Michael Ellington of Lexington.

The 2009 junior Homecoming Court representatives are:

• Tieranee Sturdivant, a business administration and psychology major, the daughter of Anthony and Delores Sturdivant of Union City, Tenn.;

• Heath Davis, a public health major, the son of Steve and Cindy Davis of Pensacola, Fla.;

• Kirby Soles, a sports management and biology major, the daughter of Mark and Karen Soles of Corbin;

• Aaron Root, an education major, the son of Barbara and David Root of Williamsburg;

• Chelsea Belt, a biology major, the daughter of Junior and Michelle Belt of Keavy; and

• Casey Hamm, a human services major, the son of Robin Hamm of London.

The 2009 senior Homecoming Court Queen and King candidates are:

• Janet Schietlin, a biology major, the daughter of Roy and Dorothy Schietlin of Radcliff;

• Adam Luttrell, a business administration and human services major, the son of Gurney and Joyce Luttrell of Harlan;

• Kati Reager, an elementary education major, the daughter of Jackie Rogers of Carlisle, Ohio;

• David Sandlin, an elementary education major from Maryville, Tenn., the son of Marty Sandlin of Frankfort and Rick Sandlin of Louisville;

• Deavin Stewart, a middle school education major, the daughter of Dorothy Stewart of Lynch;

• Forrest Coleman, a business administration major from Shelbyville, the son of Byron and Audre Coleman of Fairhope, Ala.;

• Amanda Jean Howard, a public health and health, exercise and sport science major, is the daughter of Jodi Hackworth of Salyersville; and

• P.J. Hughes, a business administration and communication arts major, the son of Bobby Hughes of Marietta, Ga., and Sydney Hughes of Montezuma, Ga.

The 2009 Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned during half-time of the homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 10.
