Peek honored at University of the Cumberlands


Kendra Peek receives the Curtis S. Brown Award from Mr. Tanna Orgeron, Assistant Professor of Communication Arts.

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Kendra Peek received the Communication and Theatre Art Department’s 2010 Curtis S. Brown Award. The award was received by Peek at the 51st annual Honors Day Convocation, on April 26, at University of the Cumberlands.

Peek graduated with a double major in communication arts and the University’s first ever major in journalism. She served as a Residential Adviser and the managing editor of The Patriot newspaper. Peek was also involved with the campus radio station WCCR 94.5 FM and the campus television station UCTV-19.

The daughter of Steven and Lisa Peek, from Kings Mountain, Peek will attend graduate school at the University of Tennessee where she will study journalism and electronic media.
