WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The works of art major Linda DeBakey, from Columbia, Md., were displayed this April at her senior exhibit in the J.M. Boswell Art Gallery at University of the Cumberlands. The exhibit featured several vibrant oils on canvas.

The first thing noticeable in DeBakey’s work is her deep appreciation of oils. When asked about her use of oils she said, “I honestly do not know why I prefer oil. I just enjoy working with the medium.” DeBakey’s work is comprised mostly of portraits.

“One of the most memorable aspects of my years at Cumberlands would have to be the faculty. They are excellent at what they do and they truly care about the students,” said DeBakey.
