Communication and Theatre Arts Department Holds Honors and Awards Night |

The Communication and Theatre Arts Department at Cumberland College recently held its 7th annual honors and awards night on April 21. Several students were awarded for outstanding achievement and service in the many programs sponsored by the department. Award winners included: WCCR Radio • Outstanding Programming – Kevin Frye and Alisha Hackler • 1st annual Spirit Award – Sarah Martin • Outstanding Senior – Jeremiah Massengale Channel 19 Television • Spirit Award – Tyler Carr, Sarah Martin • Programming Excellence – “Patriot Talk” (Courtney Hodges, Jennifer Roberts, Brenda McDaniel, and Jonathan Lawson) • Outstanding Reporter – Laura Hadley • Hannah Award of Excellence – Michal Deaver • Outstanding Staff Member – Jennifer Roberts • Broadcaster of the Year – Jonathan Lawson Forensics • Top Debater – Sara Straub • Best Individual – Korey Howard • MVP – Korey Howard Journalism • Best Photograph – Andrew Morrison • Best Regular Column – Tim Wix and Aaron Zechinni • Article of the Year – Heather Mays • Best Photo Layout – Karla Frost • Outstanding Journalist – Jolina Miller and Tiffany Carby • 1st annual Jeremiah Award – Jeremiah Massengale Theatre Arts • Outstanding Designer – Tyne Wilmot • Director’s Award – Mandy Webb • Outstanding Technician – Shelley Seifert • Outstanding Performer – Melissa Bond • Thespian of the Year – Korey Howard Scholarship • Communication Arts Scholarships – Katherine Mack and Dawn Marshall Outstanding Seniors • Communication Arts – Jeremiah Massengale • Theatre Arts – Alisha Hackler |
